Wonder-kid, Abdul Aziz Issah has stolen the headlines in Dreams FC’s remarkable run in this season’s CAF Confederation Cup campaign, which sees them on the verge of reaching the semifinals.
The 18 year old’s performances, which have produced 4 goals and 2 assists in the competition so far, have won him high praise from his Head Coach, Abdul-Karim Zito, who has dared to compare him with the legendary Abedi Ayew Pele.
According to Zito, his young star is better at this level than the great Abedi Ayew was.
“Abedi Pele was brought to Aburi at the age of 17. At the age of 18, Abedi did not play like Aziz at this level.”
Zito also called on the handlers of the senior national team, Black Stars, to hand Issah a call-up.
“If I were in the Black Stars, I would call him. It's long overdue,” he told Accra based Onua Sports.
Abedi Ayew, at 18 years old, had already made 46 appearances for Real Tamale United, scoring 21 times.
He was also part of Ghana’s 1982 AFCON winning squad - the last time the Black Stars won the trophy.
The attacking midfielder, Aziz Issah, has scored 11 goals and provided 4 assists so far this season in all competitions for Dreams FC.
He was a key part of the Black Satellites side that won gold at the African Games.
