Ghana will be without experience pair of Inaki Williams and Daniel Amartey for the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers against Mali and the Central African Republic.
This was confirmed by Black Stars coach Otto Addo at a press conference to name his 26 man-squad on Wednesday, May 29, 2024.
Anderlecht midfielder Majeed Ashimeru, Los Angeles Galaxy winger Joseph Paintsil, Lorient center back Nathaniel Adjei, and Club Brugge defender Denis Odoi also did not make the squad due to injuries.
The major absentee from the squad is the captain Dede Ayew who was not invited despite an impressive campaign with French side Le Havre.
Otto's team will start camping from tomorrow 30th May, 2024 at the Legon Stadium before travelling to Mali for the match on June 6, 2024. The Stars are scheduled to return immediately after the match to prepare for the Central African Republic test four days later.
Ghana are in 4th place with three points behind group leaders Comoros after two matches.
