A Deputy Chief of Staff has extolled the credibility of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), describing the governing party as one that fulfils its promises to the electors.
Francis Asenso-Boakye who was addressing members of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) branch of the Tertiary Institution Confederacy (TESCON) of the NPP over the weekend added that since the era of former President J.A. Kuffour, policies and programmes initiated by NPP governments have transformed lives.
According to him, an assessment of the manifesto pledges of both the NPP and the NDC over the years justifies his point.
The transformation of Ghana’s economy from a low income to middle-income status, the repeal of the Criminal Libel Law and the introduction of the National Health Insurance Scheme were examples he alluded to in support of his claims.
He further added that the Akufo-Addo administration has since 2017, initiated a number of programmes aimed at fulfiling the party’s promises during the 2016 elections.
The introduction of the Free SHS Policy, Planting for Food and Jobs, and One District-One Factory were examples of what he was referring to.
The Deputy Chief of Staff also encouraged TESCON members to rally behind the party to win the 2020 elections for the transformation of the country.
