Dormaa Central Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Drissa Ouattara has appealed for more logistics and posting of adequate number of Police personnel to the Municipality to enhance the operations of the Police in the area.
Inaugurating of a single-story Divisional Police Headquarters at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Bono Region, Mr Ouattara said heavy workloads on the few personnel have had a negative toll on their output.
Aside the donation of the five-acre land on which the building is situated by the Dormaahene, Osagyefo Oseadeeyo Agyemang Badu II, he also fully-funded the project with proceeds from the Dormaa Stool lands’ sale.
Until recently the Dormaa Central Divisional Police Command was for many years using rented apartments as charge office, administrative and other operational duties.

The Brong-Ahafo Region Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Godfred Owusu Boateng stressed the need for the public to volunteer information to the Police to arrest certain blacklisted criminals in the society and adding that, “there are special rewards for those who provide such useful information”.
DCOP Boateng said between October 17 and November 1 this year, six accidents involving tricycle users and motor bicycle riders were recorded at Dormaa-Ahenkro.
He called for the general public to help in the spread of the message about road safety and advised young boys below 18 years not to ride motorbikes and tricycles because they were not permitted under the law to do so.
“The youth above 18 years too must be disciplined and desist from riding under the influence of hard liquors and other harmful drugs such as tramadol,” DCOP Boateng said.
DCOP Samuel Monney on behalf of the Inspector General of Police Mr. James Oppong Boanuh officially cut the tape to inaugurate the new Office Building.
