The National Democratic Congress (NDC) together with a coalition of like-minded opposition political parties who are against the Electoral Commission’s decision to compile a new voters register, embarked on a mammoth demonstration through the streets of Kumasi, the Ashanti Region capital.The disgruntled parties say there is no need for a new voters’ register, arguing that the election management body is engaged in frivolous spending.According to them, the decision the EC to procure a new register is an attempt to rig the forthcoming polls in favour of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)The ‘Yenpini’ protest in Kumasi, the second of three of such activities aimed at putting pressure on the EC to abort its decision to compile a new voters’ register.See the photos below:
