Black Stars coach Charles Kwabla Akonnor as part of efforts to familiarize himself with his new role has met up with two key players of the senior national team.
Akonnor held a successful meeting with captain Andre Ayew and his younger brother Jordan Ayew in England on Sunday.
The 45-year-old sees the two – who have over 100 caps between them – as important to his plans as he aims to bring back the lost glory.
Akonnor is on a European tour to monitor Black Stars players and also scout new players for the team.
He was appointed last month, replacing Kwesi Appiah who had been in charge for two and a half years.
Akonnor has been tasked to end Ghana’s drought by winning the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon and also qualify the team to the World Cup in Qatar.
Ghana missed out on the last world cup.
