The ingenuity of a commercial vehicle, popularly called 'Trotro', driver has averted what could have been a disaster at Tech-Junction in Kumasi.
The driver skillfully managed to climb a footbridge with his vehicle following brake failure on Thursday to the admiration of many onlookers and passengers.
Social media pictures of the vehicle parked on the pedestrian walkway have attracted public anger and condemnation at what many considered to be an act of indiscipline.
Nhyira News checks, however, reveal that the unidentified driver rather earned praise from those who witnessed the incident of him trying his best to save lives.
An evangelist, Christopher Nobio Sunkem, escaped by the skin of his teeth when the incident occurred at 9 am..

"I was standing here in the morning preaching and I raised my head and saw a car coming. When I observed the way it was coming towards me with the speed I realised something was amiss.
"I knew immediately that something was wrong with the car so I moved from this side to the other direction. All of a sudden, the car got through this place [footbridge]."
Station Master at the Tech Junction Lorry Terminal, Isaac Opoku Agyemang, has dismissed allegations that the driver intentionally chose to drive on the footbridge.
"I saw the bus driving at top speed as it entered the terminal. We sensed danger. Luckily, only a few people were at the terminal.
"The driver decided to climb the footbridge because it was the only option for him to avert a tragedy. It is a green Urvan mini bus with registration AS 1479."
Personnel from the KNUST District Command Motor, Transport and Traffic Department(MTTD) led by district commander, ASP Bernice Konadu have visited the scene to start their investigations.
Statements had been taken from eyewitnesses including leadership of the Driver's Union.
