Wife of the Vice President, Samira Bawumia says voting against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is equivalent to endorsing the country’s decline.
According to her, the current administration has put the country on the path of development and needs to continue.
Comparing the dollar rate in 2008 under Former President Kufuor to that of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration when it took over, Mrs Bawumia accused the NDC of failing to develop the country when they had the opportunity to do so.
"We were all here when banks were chasing people with loans in 2008. A dollar was equivalent to 1 cedi. NDC came to power and messed up this. The power crises came to live with us. They messed everything up”.
She believes President Akufo-Addo has come to redeem Ghanaians, hence, the need to be given another term in office.
As the Patron of the Ashanti Regional Women’s Campaign Team, the 2nd Lady encouraged the women to market the good works of Nana Akufo-Addo's administration across the length and breadth of the region before the elections.
More than 51 per cent of voters in the Ashanti Region are women and the Party's Women’s Organiser, Kate Gyamfuaah sees this as an advantage to the women’s team in achieving targets set by the NPP in the Region.
She charged the women to visit homes and campaign frequently to put their party ahead.
"At least we should visit individual homes 3 times and talk to them. There’s nothing like an NDC territory. Go everywhere and campaign,” she advised.
The Ashanti Regional Women’s Organiser, Nana Ama Ampomah also called for unity among the party members to help meet their target.
The all-women campaign team was sworn in by the Regional Chairman, Bernard Antwi Boasiako.
He reiterated the party's target of winning all 47 parliamentary seats and 90 percent votes in the region.
