The Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) is mounting pressure on the Police to flash out killers of Ahmed Hussein-Suale and bring them to justice.
President of the Association, Roland Affail Monney says serving justice to Suale and his family will usher renewed hope in the justice delivery system and confidence in journalists to pursue their work.
He made these comments during the commemoration of the International Day to End Impunity for Crimes Against Journalists on November 2.
“The killers must be punished to the fullest permissible within the law, if found guilty, this will be the strongest antidote,” he stated.
He stated that the people who attack journalists should not be spared to serve as a deterrent to other people.
According to him, if these perpetrators are dealt with, journalists will be safe going about their duties.
He has cautioned journalists to avoid activities that will push others to attack them.
"As long as journalists shed light on dark spots and hold people in positions of power to account, then they are doing their job and no one has the right to attack them," he added.
