Four children last night lost their lives in a fire incident which destroyed some wooden structures at Tempo Gate, Kotobabi in the Tema West Municipality.
The deceased, Enoch Gavor, 11, twins; Joyce and Joycelin Somehi aged 7 and Mary Somehi, 4.
The incident is said to have occurred at about 10:00 pm when parents of the children were at their convenient store few metres away.
Father of the deceased, Seth Somehi, a Steelbender who could not control his tears revealed that around 8:00 pm, the children had gone ahead of them to their home as they were sleepy.
At 10:00 pm, he asked his wife Abigail Somehi to close after he noticed smoke emanating from their wooden structure where the children were sleeping.
"I have lost four children, I don't know what to do now, I leave everything to God."
Fire personnel from Kasapreko who were first to arrive could not fight the ravaging fire and were later assisted by fire personnel from the military to bring the situation under control.
According to the Baatsona District Commander, DSP James Asiedu the exact cause of the inferno is still unknown.
The parents and some neighbours are expected to honour the invitation of the police this morning to assist with investigations.
