Former Energy Minister Kwabena Donkor in the Mahama administration has retained the Pru East constituency seat in the Bono East region.
The MP-elect has held the seat since the 2016 general elections on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and served as the Chairman of the Committee on Mines and Energy.
Kwabena Donkor polled 21,153 while the New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary candidate polled 12,132 in the race, the Electoral Commission has certified.
After being declared winner, Kwabena Donkor said he has outlined three sectors in the Pru East constituency that he will like to pay special attention to going into the next four years of service to the community.
He said he will prioritise good drinking water for his people, education and health during the next four years as a member of parliament.
In total votes cast were 34,664; total valid ballots at 33,734 and the total rejected ballots recorded by EC officials was 930.
