One only has to look at Dacosta Boadu and Isaac Opoku Agyemang to trace the story of AshGold in the past few weeks.
The Miners did not start the month of December on a good note. In the first weekend, they suffered elimination in the preliminary stage of Caf Confederation Cup at the hands of Burkinabe side Salitas.
Following a goalless draw in the first leg in Obuasi, the Miners travelled up north hoping for a miracle but they were beaten 2-1 as their continental journey ended. Prior to the elimination, they were also not performing well in the Ghana Premier League.
The Miners had played two games and failed to pick maximum points.
But since the defeat in Ouagadougou, Ashgold have looked a different side, picking up two consecutive wins in the league. They won both games convincingly.
They first beat stubborn Elmina Sharks side 4-2 before pummeling King Faisal 5-1 on Wednesday.
And that's where the two players come in.
Against Sharks, striker Boadu made his debut for the Miners and scored twice.
A similar thing happened on Wednesday with fellow striker Opoku Agyemang also scoring a brace on his first appearance for the Miners.
Currently, Ashgold are the highest scorers in the league after five matchdays. They have netted 13 goals, with five players scoring two or more goals.
If they keep this form, they could be reliving the title-winning season of 2015.
