The Supreme Court on Thursday heard the new applications brought before it by the 2020 NDC presidential candidate, John Mahama.
The two motions follow the dismissal of a leave seeking to reopen his case so he can subpoena the Chairperson of the EC, Jean Mensa to testify in the ongoing election petition.

The lead counsel for the petitioner, Tsatsu Tsikata moved an application for stay of proceedings as he urged the court to review an earlier ruling on the decision by the respondents not to put forth witnesses.

The court ruled that Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, could not be compelled to testify and be cross-examined as a witness in the election petition hearing.
