Ghanaian football fans on social media have expressed opposing views following Stephen Appiah's list of best Ghanaian players that failed to capture former Black Stars captain, Asamoah Gyan.
Former Juventus star and Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah in a social media post named his best five Ghanaian players since 1992.
According to him, the ‘numero uno’ spot goes to no other than himself with Abedi Pele and Tony Yeboah taking the second and third slot respectively.

Former Chelsea defensive midfielder, Michael Essien came in fourth while Goalkeeper Richard Kingson took the last spot.
But Ghanaian sensation, Baby Jet due to some unexplained circumstance could not make the cut.
This has resulted in some users creating their own list of their top 5 Ghanaian players aside from criticising Stephen Appiah on the absence of Asamoah Gyan, the now Legon Cities striker who holds the record as the country’s all-time highest scorer.
Choose your best Black Stars captain ever.[1983-2021]

Essien might probably be the best I've watched but to the national he was an average player or less committed, i would pick the likes of Kwadwo Asamoah, Dede, Wakaso, Anthony Annan and KPB over him.

According to some, Stephen Appiah is not at fault for expressing his opinion on who he considers as the best Ghanaian players.
Just like gown you’ve been able to express your opinion so does Stephen Appiah has the rights to his opinion...Simplicita !!!

Stephen Appiah was asked to choose his top 5 Black Star players and he selected them yet some Ghanaians are bashing him for not adding Gyan. First of all, is your top 5 his top 5? It is his selection, you too select yours why bash him?We deserve everything the Govt is doing to us
