The Ghana Journalists Association, has announced its decision to organise National and Regional Executive elections by October 3, 2021.
This is contained in a press statement issued by the Association Friday, September 3 and signed by the General Secretary, Mr Kofi Yeboah.
This comes after the GJA reached an out-of-court settlement with a member of the Association, Caroline Boateng, in the matter of “CAROLINE BOATENG VRS THE GJA PRESIDENT& ORS”.
"The swearing-in of new executives shall be held within two weeks after the declaration of election results.
Within seven days from now, September 3, the GJA shall establish its 2021 Election Supervision Committee to work with the Elections Committee of the Association to conduct the elections.
The Supervision Committee will consist of a representative of each of the aspirants for national office positions and each of the regions.
Meanwhile, aspirants are entreated to submit their names to the Chairman, GJA Elections Committee, Ghana International Press Centre, Accra, before the close of work on Monday, September 6, 2021," the statement said.
