An aggrieved mother of a transgender singer, Araba Forson, has affirmed her willingness to strip and walk to Parliament in protest of the anti-LGBTQ bill if it's finally passed into law.

According to Araba Forson, the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill is a hostile legislation designed to promote hate for the LGBTQ community in Ghana.

In venting her anger, Araba Forson, who also claims to be a pastor described the proponents of the bill as insensitive folks who cannot sympathise with the differences of others.

Making specific reference to the Ningo-Prampram MP, Sam George, Araba Forson said the advocates of the bill must be more concerned about issues such as corruption instead of focusing on LGBTQ.

When asked about her earlier threat of marching to Parliament to protest the bill if it becomes law, Araba Forson told Benjamin Akakpo on the Prime Morning Show on Friday that, 'I don't care … oh yes! Why do you have to criminalise somebody's sexuality?'

The sentiments of Araba Forson have been expressed by tons of Ghanaians who also believe that the current bill before Parliament is an affront to human right and must be discarded.

A section of the populace also fear that if the bill is eventually promulgated into law, Ghana may suffer a cut in aid from some of her foreign donors who sympathise with the LGBTQ community.

Meanwhile, Parliament is expected to commence deliberations on the bill when it resumes from recess on Tuesday, October 26, 2021.
