Head coach of Accra Great Olympics, Annor Walker has set his sights on guiding Oly Dade to a top four finish in the Ghana Premier League.
Great Olympics were imperious last season, and provided a challenge to Hearts and Kotoko. However getting to the business end of the season, Olympics fell off and finished sixth.
It was a disappointing end to the season, after the club set a target of finishing in the top four.
Despite pangs of last season’s disappointment, Walker has once again committed himself to making sure that Olympics secure a top four finish.
“What I’m seeing has also given me the confidence. It is the same target that I have put before me that at least I have to be in the top four. But like I always say, if God gives me 1st or 2nd I’ll thank the almighty. So my target is to be in the top four,” Walker said.
Following the end of last season, Olympics have lost certain players who were instrumental to their campaign last season. Key amongst them is Gladson Awako, who completed a move to city rivals, Accra Hearts of Oak.
Olympics have gone on to bolster their squad with the signing of forward, Samuel Armah from Inter Allies.
Walker is optimistic that their incomings are enough to support their push for top four.
“For now those I have had have made me happy in a way. I am only looking at my first match then I conclude. I am happy that I have replacements. But what I have seen has also given me the confidence,” Walker said.
In their first game of the new season, Olympics traveled away to Tamale where the played returnees, RTU.
Olympics scored first but fell to a late penalty from Sandan Abagna. Their next game will be versus debutants, Accra Lions.
