Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale has urged the public not to be surprised about the kissing incident involving him and his bodyguard, Kumoji, in a viral video.

According to him, this is not the first time he has shared a kiss with a member of his inner circle.

Taking to Facebook, Shatta Wale indicated that “I kiss guy man, I kiss Latif, I kiss Large, I kiss 7 million, I kiss Ampalalu, I kiss Captan, I kiss MDK. Our bloodline kiss in Shatta movement is trending 😂😂. Shatta Kumoji welcome back home in peace and not in pieces like they wanted 😂.”

The ‘Freedom’ hitmaker noted that this bond they share has contributed to their strength as a group.

“In fact, that’s why we are stronger in spirit than your entire generation. Everybody who has been with ME knows Shatta movement is a SPIRITUAL SOCIETY!!! Can’t you see we don’t fall?”

Shatta Wale sent the internet buzzing after a video of him kissing one of his bodyguards was published online.

Following the reactions, Shatta Wale noted that his fans like to see him kiss because it makes them happy.

However, many Ghanaians expressed varied opinions on the video which resurrected the conversations on the Anti-LGBTQ+ Bill.

Some people believed the video proved Shatta Wale was queer and only hiding behind women to hide his sexuality.

Others, however, believed that Shatta Wale and his friend only shared an unromantic kiss, therefore, disputing claims of the singer being queer.

Also reacting to the video, Ningo Prampram MP, Sam George, said that he suspects the “Ayoo” hitmaker was high on drugs when he decided to kiss his fellow man on the lips.

“E be like broda man smoke the wrong leaves. Maybe e go do snap take explain na w3i di3r, I’m not handatand, (sic)” he tweeted.

Some social media users anticipated a much worse reaction from Sam George.

This is because the legislator is among the proponents seeking to make the activities of the LGBTQ+ community in Ghana unlawful through the Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values 2021 Bill also known as the Anti-LGBTQI+ Bill before Parliament.
