Former Chief Executive Officer of Asante Kotoko, Herbert Mensah, has congratulated the 2021/22 champions-elect of the Ghana Premier League following their triumph on Thursday, June 2.
Kotoko came from a goal down to secure a 1-1 draw against AshantiGold in the Ashanti derby at the Len Clay Stadium as the Porcupine Warriors wrapped up the league title.
With just three games to go until the end of the season, Kotoko who have 60 points, enjoy an overwhelming 10-point advantage at the top of the standings.
The club's league triumph also sees them win their first top-flight title since 2013/14 and their 25th overall in Ghana's top flight.
Reacting to the club's success, Mensah wrote on Twitter: "And when it mattered most ALL remembered the heritage of greatness that was required of them."
The former CEO also thanked the current leader, Nana Yaw Amponsah as well as the entire playing body for this season's success.
The Porcupine Warriors are 10 points clear at the top with 60 points after 31 matches
