Minority in Parliament has accused the Chairman of the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee, Kwame Anyimadu Antwi for deliberately delaying the passage of the Anti-LGBTQI Bill.
But the Chairman has defended the delay in the passage of the Bill saying the delay is because the Committee has to take time to pass a law that will withstand the test of time.
He insisted that the Committee will go through the legal processes before passing the Bill into law.
In this regard, JoyNews' PM Express will discuss the hold-up in the passing of the LGBTQ Bill.
Guests for the discussion are; Member on the Constitutional, Legal, and Parliamentary Affairs Committee, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, Fund Raising Coordinator for Amnesty International, Samuel Agbotsey and Executive Secretary of National Coalition for Proper Human Sexual Rights and Family Values, Moses Foh-Amoaning
Meanwhile, the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association conference has invited members of Parliament’s Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee to a three-day meeting in the United Kingdom.
The event is expected to address a number of human rights issues among which the controversial Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill (Anti-LGBTQ Bill) will be key.
