Ghana international, Alidu Seidu, says it’s a great honour for him to have donned the Black Stars jersey as it was a childhood dream.
The versatile defender made his debut for the national team during the 2022 Kirin Cup in Japan, featuring against the host nation before playing in the encounter against Chile.
Seidu was also in the starting line-up for the international friendly against Nicaragua in September, playing all minutes available.
Speaking on Star Connect, the Clermont Foot star revealed he has always had the dream of playing for the Black Stars since his days as a kid in Aboabo.
“Being in the national team is a great achievement because every player dreams of playing for his national team,” he said.
“Since childhood, it’s been a dream to play in the national team so if I’ve got the opportunity, I am very happy.”
The 22-year-old added that though the national team is a huge platform, he does not burden himself to impress as he gets called up for his output at the club level.
“For me, the dream is to play. I won’t say because it’s the national team and it’s big, I have to put pressure on myself,” he continued.
“I was called to the national team because of how I play for my club so I try to do the same thing or give my best to the national team.”
Seidu awaits his faith on Monday, November 14, when Otto Addo announces his final 26-man squad for the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
