The donation on Monday, December 27 was made by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the NHIA, Dr Bernard Okoe Boye.

Speaking to the media after the presentation, Dr Okoe Boye said the motive for the donation is to assist the facility in its delivery of healthcare to patients.

“We came here this holiday to appreciate those health staff who are on duty. We are at the NHIA, we have brought one trolly which is to assist with emergency cases, wheelchairs and electronic BPs to come and support the facility in its operations,” he said.

The Member of Parliament for the Okaikwei South Constituency, Dakoa Newman also provided the staff with KFC food packs for being on duty even on a holiday.

Receiving the donations, the Hospital Administrator for the Kaneshie Polyclinic, Madam Adelaide Setordji on behalf of the Sub Metro Director of Health Services, Dr Stella Gyamfi also appreciated the gesture.

She used the occasion to urge the NHIA to ensure the prompt release of funds to their providers so they can also administer healthcare to all patients.

“We thank you so much for this kind gesture and we want to say that the donation is timely because we just commissioned a new maternity and theatre ward and we would items such as these and in fact, there are more things that we need but this is a stepping stone for more things to come,” she also said.
