President Akufo-Addo has appointed Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwesi Bekoe as Chief of Air Staff in consultation with the Council of State.
His appointment takes effect from January 26, 2023.
This is pursuant to the provision of Article 212 of the 1992 Constitution.
The Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin in a release dated January 26, 2023, said the appointment follows the retirement of his predecessor (Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson) from the Ghana Armed Forces.
Prior to his appointment, Frederick Asare Bekoe was the Air Officer, Special duties at the Office of the President from 2019. He was also the Base Commander for the Air Force Base, Accra from 2016 to 2019.
From 2015 to 2016, he served as the Director of Air Operations at the Ghana Air Force. He was the officer commanding flying wing at the Air Force Base in Accra from July 2011 to May 2014.
