Ajax star Mohammed Kudus says his new role in the team under John Heitinga is good for his development.
Since taking over the Ajax head coach role for the interim, Heitinga has deployed the 22-year-old as a right winger.
The new position adds up to the number of roles the Ghanaian has played for the Dutch side since joining them in 2020, the last being as the striker under Alfred Schreuder.
Having been involved in his third goal since the appointment of Heitinga against FC Twente, Kudus claimed the new position is key to his development as a player.
"It is a new position for me and therefore also good for my development. We also sometimes switch positions. That also makes us unpredictable as a team," he said after Thursday night's game.
Kudus also spoke on the need for Ajax to beat Twente while touching on their performance.
"This third win in a row gives us a huge boost. It wasn't an easy game [vs Twente], but the most important thing was to make it to the next round of the cup. ''We didn't play our best football, but we did stay close together. We did that right," he added.
With his goal against Twente, Kudus has now netted 13 goals for Ajax this season in 27 appearances across all competitions.
