Luv News checks have revealed that the Kumasi City Authority and managers of the Kejetia Market ignored warnings of systemic flaws and maintenance lapses leading to a major fire outbreak at the market.
Fire protection systems failed to suppress and fight the recent fire at the market which destroyed several shops and goods worth millions of cedis.


Documents sighted by Luv News indicate that Brazilian company, Contracta, which constructed the market, wrote to the KMA and relevant authorities last year detailing systemic flaws and the need to keep emergency fire systems up to date.


Luv FM’s Erastus Asare Donkor has been investigating the maintenance and managerial lapses and now reports.
