Residents in southern parts of the country have been warned to prepare for heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds on Tuesday, April 19, 2023.
The Ghana Meteorological Agency (GMA) has reported that a rainstorm which was sighted in neighboring Togo is currently moving into Ghana, resulting in rainfall of varied intensities along the coast.
The agency's statement said, "rain of varying intensity with thunder and occasional strong winds are expected," and that towns in the Volta Region, such as Aflao, Denu, Agbozume, Dzodze, Akatsi, Ho, and Keta should anticipate rainstorms between 1:30 pm and 3:30 pm.
Residents of Somanya, Kofondua, Akropong, Madina, Ashaiman, Tema, Prampram and Accra in the Greater Accra Region should be prepared for heavy rains between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm.
Finally, residents of the Central, Ashanti, Western and Western North regions should expect heavy rains between 3:00 pm and 6:00 pm.
