Ghana's Black Sherif will be performing at the first edition of the Afro Nation concert in Nigeria.
Others include Burna Boy, J Hus, Flavour and Seyi Vibez. These are names of the first batch of performers for the concert slated for 19th and 20th December, 2023 at at the Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
The organisers have promised to provide names of more performers in the coming days.
This will not be the first time Black Sherif is performing at an Afro Nation event. He was billed for the 2023 Afro Nation Portugal. He also performed with Burna Boy at the 2023 Afro Nation concert in Miami, and the 2022 Afro Nation Concert in Ghana.
Founded by Adesegun Adeosun aka SMADE of Smade Entertainment and his partner Obi Asika, Afro Nation has over the years been held in Portugal, Puerto Rico, United States of America, Mexico and Ghana.
Meanwhile, it is feared that the concert may not be held in Ghana this year considering the lateness in the announcement of the 2023 edition and the non-inclusion of the event in the December in GH calendar of events put together by the Beyond the Return Secretariat.
While the Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Dr. Awal Mohammed, has assured that the government’s partnership agreement with Afro Nation still holds, some critics are of the opinion the concert might not return to Ghana again.
Afro Nation is an annual music festival produced by Live Nation, Event Horizon, Smade Entertainment, and Memories of Tomorrow.
The platform was established to bring together the best African artistes.
