A 15-year-old boy from Drobo Gonasua in the Jaman South municipality has been taken into custody for his suspected role in the tragic murder of his grandmother.
The lifeless body of the deceased, a woman in her late 50s, was discovered in the backyard of her residence after she had been reported missing for three days.
Shockingly, her remains were found concealed under a bathing sink. A search party had been deployed to locate her prior to this grim discovery. Sources say the boy struck her head with a wooden pestle before dragging the body out and covering the body with the sink just behind the house.
According to reports, the 15-year-old boy murdered her for refusing to hand over to him some money he demanded from her.
Upon finding the body, the search party was confronted with a disturbing sight: the woman's tongue, vagina, and other body parts had been gruesomely severed by the assailants.
The 15-year-old boy was implicated by his younger brother, who noticed suspicious bloodstains on his hands upon his return to school.
When questioned, the elder brother dismissed the concerns, attributing the stains to a chicken.
However, the sibling reported this to the authorities, leading to police involvement and subsequent arrest of the suspected individual.
The minor also led the police to the back of the house where he hid the money in a polythene bag he took from his grandmother after killing her.
The victim's body was transferred to the mortuary for further investigations.
