Ghanaian songstress, Efya, has revealed that she and award-winning rapper, Sarkodie are facing threats from fans demanding they collaborate on a new song.
The music diva disclosed during an interview on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, where she acknowledged that they do release songs occasionally, but ultimately, it depends on how thirsty Ghanaians are for a collaboration.
"I have seen threats from people that King Sark and I should drop a song soon," she revealed.
"I think Mike (Sarkodie) and I have been releasing songs once in a while and we drop songs when you guys are thirsty, so it depends on how thirsty you guys are," Efya added.
“Maybe when it gets to a certain level someone should kidnap Sarkodie," she jokingly noted.
When asked if she and Sarkodie have plans to release an album together, Efya stated that the decision will be made based on "vibes and energy," and that they would wait for the right moment.
"All these things happen according to vibes and energy. This collaboration will happen when everything aligns in its way," she said.
The songstress believes that they [Sarkodie and Efya] have both evolved spiritually and mentally and that they need to be on the same frequency to produce top-tier music.
"I think Sarkodie and I have ascended to a higher level mentally and spiritually. So we have to connect in that sense to be in the same frequency. When this happens, it's going to be amazing because both of us will know it's time."
The music icons have a strong history of releasing back-to-back collaborations over the years which have been incredibly popular in Ghana and beyond, including hits such as "Saara," "I'm in Love with You Now," "Best of Efya," and "Jorley."
Their collaborations have also earned them numerous awards, such as Best Collaboration of the Year at the 2020 3Music Awards among other awards.
Fans are eagerly waiting for the duo to team up again and release another hit that will captivate audiences worldwide.
