Comedian Foster Romanus is having a hard time convincing people to appreciate his other traits aside from comedy.
The situation has placed some sort of burden on him in making individuals he comes across acknowledge his versatility.
Although he admits he may not have total control over people’s perceptions, he is making efforts to sharpen the narratives about himself.
Speaking to Amelley Djosu on Joy Prime’s Celeb Biz Saturday, Mr. Amponsah revealed that some individuals have addressed him in a manner that hurts, but he is never allowing that to get to him.
“One of the biggest challenges is the fact that people see you as a comedian all the time and don’t want to look at the fact that there can be anything else apart from being a comedian.”
“So sometimes, even when you want to bring the element of another ability, they still have that face of a comedian. But with that one, you can’t take it away from them. It is you. Unless it’s not you. You just have to work hard and prove them wrong. That’s one of the things you do. You just don’t have to give up. You work hard, and you don’t let that get to you,” he indicated.
The former Stars of the Future contestant further revealed that having to hit the comedy stage and not getting a favourable response from the audience makes up some of the lowest moments in his career.
But that does not derail his efforts to keep improving on the act of cracking ribs at comedy shows.
The General Manager of EBN also added that the inability of people to listen to his ideas without tagging him as a clown sometimes gets to him.
This one in particular forced him to pursue further studies in order to prove to others that he is as good as being on stage and in business.
