The Ahafo Regional Minister, George Yaw Boakye has urged Municipal and District Assemblies (MDAs) managers in the region to devote adequate resources to improve water, sanitation and hygiene services for residents.
According to the Minister, the Region is lucky to have partners like IRC - Ghana, World Vision, Aquaya, etc., working on improving water, sanitation, and hygiene. The assemblies must gather resources and prioritize residents' well-being without excuses.
George Boakye stressed the responsibility of Municipal and District Chief Executives and other assembly staff in Ahafo at Goaso.
He emphasized the need to ensure clean water, improved sanitation, and good hygiene for residents during his address.
He stressed that the only path to achieving this goal is for the assemblies to allocate sufficient resources.
“Ahafo Municipal District Chief Executive and management of the Assemblies to adhere to the implementation modalities for the effective and the efficient execution of the plans in their areas.
“I appeal to you to devote every resource require to ensure the overall success of the program in their district, we have an opportunity and the responsibility to provide clean water and sanitation for our people, this is both a development issue and moral imperatives”.
He appreciated the Ahafo Regional Coordinating Council for working with assemblies and the private sector to improve water, sanitation, and hygiene services in the region.
He also mentioned that his doors are open for additional government-private collaboration to speed up development during his tenure as the Ahafo Regional Minister.
“The restless effort of the regional coordinating council in collaboration with the Municipal District Assemblies department and Agencies as well as the private sector gives me the sufficient motivation that the region is spoilt for an enhance work center in the coming years.
“I reassure you that during my tenure the doors of the regional coordinating council will remain open to offer any assistance that will be require by our partners in our collective effort to develop the region”.
