Tragedy struck on Thursday morning, [February 8], as a nurse in his 40s from the Bimbilla Hospital lost his life in a fatal accident involving a Kia Renault.
The deceased, who was returning from his night shift, was hit by the Kia Renault in the unfortunate incident.
According to eyewitnesses, a Benz bus travelling in the wrong direction forced the Kia Renault to swerve, resulting in a fatal collision.
Confirming the incident to the media, Nanumba North Municipal Chief Executive Abdulai Yaqoub expressed his condolences.
The police have taken the nurse's body to the hospital morgue, and the drivers involved in the accident have been arrested and are currently in police custody.
However, the driver of the Benz bus has offered a conflicting statement, denying involvement in the accident and claiming to have passed the scene before the collision occurred.
