The President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku, has denied claims he was involved in player selections and callups during Chris Hughton's time as Black Stars head coach.
In recent years, Okraku has come under intense criticism for allegedly playing a role decision making as far as the selection of players for the team is concerned.
He faced similar accusations during the tenures of Charles Kwablan Akonnor and Otto Addo but the FA President has rubbished those claims.
"I didn’t interfere in the job of Charles Akonnor. Neither did I interfere in the job of Otto Addo… and neither did I interfere in the job of Mr. Chris Hughton," he said during the GFA's meeting with the press in Kumasi on Wednesday, February 7.
"They were our coaches and any other coach who will be hired by the Football Association will be given the freedom as always to deliver."
Hughton was shown the exit following Ghana's from the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations where they finished third in Group B after two points from three games.
The Ghana FA are currently on a search for a replacement for the Irish trainer with the March international window next on the agenda.
