Asante Kotoko striker, Steve Mukwala has been awarded by organisers of the J.A Kufuor Cup with TECNO Canon 25 mobile phone.
The Porcupines leading marksman was adjudged Man of the Match in the ceremonial match between his club Nsoatreman FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
Mukwala, who scored Kotoko’s winning goal in the game was handed the TECNO Canon 25 by Tecno Mobile by former Black Stars captain, Stephen Appiah on behalf TECNO Mobile, one of the sponsors of the cup match.
The Ugandan import expressed his excitement over the feat, stating that the win was necessary to boost the confidence of the team ahead of the second round of the season which starts this weekend.
He reckons the win would also motivate them to keep their performance stable in the Ghana Premier League (GPL), as they seek to win the competition having missed out to Medeama SC last season.
Asante Kotoko became the first winner of the J.A Kufuor Cup match after coming from behind to beat Nosatreman FC 2-1 at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.
The J.A Kufuor Cup is an initiative of John Agyekum Kufuor Foundation to honour the former President and also to raise funds for the activities of the foundation.
