Black Satellites head coach, Desmond Ofei has denied reports of interference from officials of the Ghana Football Association after their gold-winning feat at the just-ended African Cup of Nations.
The Ghana U-20 side emerged champions of the football competition after beating Uganda 1-0 and clinching the title for the first time since 2011.
The issue of interference predominantly resurfaces during national team call-ups under the current Ghana FA administration.
Desmond, who took the job in September 2023, dismissed the reports and insisted his team was fully in charge of selection.
"The list that we got was based on the scout, scouted by our own scouts. That is the priority. In reality, we just picked the best players without any influence, zero,” he told Asempa FM.
"I am here to help the nation and I am here thanks to the President [Kurt Okraku]. Everybody is super motivated, super hungry to achieve the absolute highest for Ghana because we need to get back to our glory.”
