The Ghana Police Service (GPS) has expressed its heartfelt grief over the tragic loss of three officers in a fatal accident.
The accident, which occurred on Wednesday, March 27, tragically claimed the lives of three officers of the Service at Kyekyewere near Suhum in the Eastern region on the Accra-Kumasi Highway.
A video of the incident shows a white police Jeep belonging to the Formed Police Unit (FPU) in a bush, with its doors unhinged. There are also spots of blood in the surrounding bushes.
It is unclear what caused the accident but the Police Service say in a statement it issued Wednesday evening that the officers died while on their way for Police operational duties.
The Police Service has promised to provide further details after families of the fallen servicemen are formally informed.
