The Inspector-General of Police (IGP) George Akuffo Dampare made a special appearance on Adom FM’s drive time show, Ofie Kwanso at the LindaDor Rest Stop on the Accra-Kumasi highway.
His visit on Thursday March 28, was to educate motorists and revelers gearing up for the Easter celebrations at Kwahu in the Eastern region.
During his interaction with show host, Jerry Justice, the IGP shared essential tips to ensure a safe and incident-free Easter celebration.
“I plead with drivers and all travelers to be vigilant. Remember, we only have one life on this earth. If we lose our lives, there's no life anywhere else. We need patience. If drivers rush while driving, where are they going? Once you reach your destination, that's it. So, let's relax."
“When you relax while driving on a long journey, it makes the trip more exciting and ensures you reach your destination safely,”he added
With many people expected in Kwahu, the IGP emphasized the importance of revelers observing traffic rules, avoiding reckless driving, and staying alert on the roads.
The Police chief praised the Adom FM team for their planned activities aimed at entertaining and thrilling patrons.
The IGP stressed the importance of everyone taking collective responsibility to ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for all.
“We ask all drivers to relax while driving. Passengers should also speak up if they notice any mistakes by the driver to prevent accidents. We wish everyone a Happy Easter, and we will protect everyone using this route to celebrate Easter. We are here to keep everyone safe,”he said
