Ghana Premier League side, Dreams FC, have reached the semifinals of the CAF Confederation Cup in their debut campaign, after overcoming Malian side, Stade Malien.
The MTN FA Cup holders, came from behind to draw 1-1 in the second leg of their quarterfinal at the Baba Yara Stadium against the Malians.
Dreams thought they had taken the lead early on in the first half, but VAR intervened to keep the score level.
After a goalless first half, Stade Malien took the lead on the 60th minute mark through York Diaby, to level the aggregate score.
Dreams, however fought back to level the score ten minutes later, through Sylvester Simba.
Karim Zito’s side held on firmly to keep the score at 1-1 on the night and progressed 3-2 on aggregate, after last week’s famous win in Mali.
Dreams become the first Ghanaian side to reach the semis of the CAF Confederation Cup, since Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko did so back in 2005, in the maiden edition of the competition.
