Former Asante Kotoko head coach, Charles Kwablan Akonnor, has denied reports of a possible return to the club to replace Prosper Narteh Ogum as head coach.
Ogum has come under pressure for the team's performance this season as they languish in 11th place after 28 games played, amassing just 37 points.
Reports emerged earlier this month that Akonnor could be heading to Kumasi to replace the former WAFA gaffer in the dugout considering the team's poor run of form.
However, Ogum has been given the vote of confidence with Akonnor also going on to brush off the reports.
"I was mad when I saw it because I didn’t say anything like that," said the former Ghana coach in an interview as quoted by Graphic Sports.
"I didn’t say I was interested in coaching the team, so I later called the guy who granted the interview, and he also denied it and said it was the bloggers who just twisted the story just to get attention."
Since the seal of approval from Manhyia, the Porcupine Warriors have won one and drawn one in their last two games in the Ghana Premier League.
