Wednesday morning's heavy rainfall led to the flooding of seven substations operated by the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) across parts of the Greater Accra Region.
According to a source at ECG, these substations must undergo a thorough drying process before they can be safely activated to supply electricity to the affected areas.
The flooding poses a potential risk to power supply in various parts of the Greater Accra Region, the source further explained.

In response to the situation, ECG deployed overnight teams to address the issue and prevent any disruption to the power supply.

The affected substations include Achimota, Dzorwolo, Burma Camp L, ACBD E, High Street AH, La Trade Fair AJ, and Station H basement.

The source added that these substations play critical roles in the distribution of electricity to residential and commercial areas within the region.
