Ghana's all-time top scorer, Asamoah Gyan, has commended Black Starlets head coach Laryea Kingston for his team's triumph over Benin.
Kingston watched from the sidelines as Ghana secured their second victory in the ongoing WAFU Zone B U-17 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
They defeated Benin 2-0 at the University of Ghana Stadium on Tuesday, May 21.
This win not only secured Ghana's position at the top of Group A but also earned them a spot in the semifinals of the youth tournament being hosted in Accra.
Kingston, who was recently promoted from assistant to head coach, has demonstrated remarkable success, losing only one game out of 16 since his assuming the role.
Impressed by Kingston's achievements, Gyan publicly expressed his admiration for his former national teammate.
I told this man he will be one of the best coaches in Ghana and beyond, the first time I saw his tactics. This is the beginning of greatness. It’s just a process. Keep going( MACHINE) pic.twitter.com/4F9gOIyWlf

The Black Starlets are hoping to seal a ticket to play at the next edition of the Africa Cup of Nations, having missed out on it since 2017 when they finished second.
Kingston will hope their run will be enough to overcome the semifinal hurdle on Saturday.
