The Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Kwasi Bedzrah has challenged members of the Tsito Senior High Technical School (Tsito SECTEC) cadet corps to become worthy ambassadors in their respective communities.
He entreated them to work towards becoming people of substance and live lives worthy of emulation by their colleagues, families, and society as a whole.
He eulogized the team for winning the national cadet drills competition for three consecutive years in 2019, 2022, and 2023, as there were no contests in 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The team earlier won the zonal, regional, and sector competitions.
Mr. Bedzrah who is Chairman of the Volta Region Caucus of the Minority National Democratic Congress (NDC) members commended the Cadet Corps on the floor of parliament when the members visited the House on an educational tour.
The National Cadet Corps Ghana organises the annual National Cadet Drills Competition to serve as a medium to instill discipline in the youth.
The Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, Alexander Roosevelt Hottordze implored the team to exhibit maximum respect for their teachers and parents and always be responsible students in their dealings.
The Chairperson of the Gender, Children, and Social Welfare Committee of Parliament and Member of Parliament for Krachi West, Helen Adjoa Ntoso urged the students to seek God first in all their endeavors and other blessings shall be added to them.
“Identify your interests, and let God, your parents, and teachers hold you to achieve them”, she added.
The students later called on the Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin who is a Sub-Chief of the Awudome Traditional Area with the title Torgbe Nutefeworla I of Awudome.
The students totaling 60 were accompanied by the Master in charge of the cadet, Eric Donkor, and his assistant Francis Onu-Mensah.
