Ghana international Brandon Thomas-Asante is optimistic his game will improve under former Black Stars assistant coach George Boateng.
Thomas-Asante joined Coventry City this summer after leaving West Bromwich Albion. He teams up with Boateng, who joined the club's coaching staff at the end of the 2023/24 season.
The Ghanaian forward believes the presence of Boateng at Coventry was key to his decision to sign for the Championship side.
"Obviously, I was very familiar and George (Boateng) would come down to watch me for West Brom doing some scouting work for Ghana during his time there so he was familiar…so when I saw that he was a coach here, knowing that he had a fondness for my game, it made sense and obviously he comes with the credentials he’s got through his playing career and coaching career," said Thomas-Asante following Coventry's pre-season defeat to Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
"As well as working with the manager, definitely working with George is something that I feel can give me the edge to take me to the next level."
The 25-year-old netted 12 goals and provided two assists in 43 games last season as West Brom made the Championship playoffs.
