Alan Kyerematen, leader of the Movement for Change (MCF) and presidential candidate for the upcoming December elections will be the guest speaker at the 2nd Distinguished Speaker Series on Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), organised by the Consortium of International Trade Associations.

This series serves as a vital platform for dialogue among key stakeholders and policymakers, with the goal to position Ghana as the premier destination for FDI in Africa.

Discussions will focus on analysing the policies proposed by leading political candidates to attract and retain FDI, which is crucial for economic growth through job creation, tax revenue generation, capital inflows, technology transfer, export development, and infrastructure enhancement.

The event will take place on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Mr. Kyerematen is expected to present policy proposals from his Great Transformational Plan (GTP), aimed at attracting and retaining investment in critical sectors of the Ghanaian economy. This will be followed by a fireside chat with Joe Mensah, a respected business leader and former president of American Chamber of Commerce Ghana.

The consortium of trade associations is dedicated to promoting economic growth and development in Ghana through strategic partnerships and collaboration. By facilitating dialogue between the public and private sectors, the consortium aims to enhance the investment climate and drive sustainable economic progress in the country.

The consortium, includes the American Chamber of Commerce in Ghana, Ghana Netherlands Business & Culture Council, Spain-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Ghana South Africa Business Chamber, Canada-Ghana Chamber of Commerce, Japan External Trade Organization, and the Chamber of Commerce & Industry, France.
