Ghana Head Coach, Otto Addo, has tipped Medeama SC and FC Samartex as his early favourites to win the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title.
The former Black Stars forward made this prediction after watching the match-week two game between Legon Cities and Medeama, which ended in a 1-0 win for the Mauve and Yellows at the Legon Stadium.
Addo also watched reigning champions Samartex defeat Nsoatreman to win the 2024 Ghana Super Cup last month at the renovated TNA Stadium. On the same day, he saw Medeama lose on penalties to Basake Holy Stars in the Apinto Cup.
“From what I saw from Medema and also Samartex, they are doing well,” he told the media after the Medeama and Legon Cities game.
“So maybe it's among these two, but I haven't seen all the matches, so I'm eager also to watch Kotoko and Hearts of Oak, and all the good teams, and then we'll see.
“But at the moment I can't make any statement about who will win the league.”
Addo also mentioned his intention to attend more Ghana Premier League games this season to scout for home-based talent.
Medeama are currently top of the Ghana Premier League table with six points after winning their opening two games while Samartex have a game in hand following a draw in their first game.
