The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is set to convene a meeting with civil society organizations, diplomats, and other stakeholders to address what it describes as significant discrepancies in Ghana’s voter's register.
This initiative comes in the wake of growing concerns regarding the integrity of the electoral process ahead of the upcoming elections.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, the party's Director of Elections and IT, Dr Edward Omane Boamah expressed their belief that the inconsistencies in the voter's register could undermine the credibility of the electoral outcomes.
He said the meeting with the stakeholders aims to gather insights and support to push for a thorough review and audit of the register before the polls.
According to him, the NDC is particularly keen on ensuring that all eligible voters are accurately represented in the register.
During the meeting, the NDC plans to discuss potential collaborative efforts to advocate for reforms within the Electoral Commission, emphasising the need for transparency and accountability in the electoral process.
By engaging with civil society and diplomatic partners, the NDC hopes to build a broad coalition that can address the concerns of Ghanaians regarding electoral fairness.
