An independent presidential candidate has called on Ghanaians to end the duopoly of the National Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to George Twum-Barimah-Adu, these two parties are hindering the nation’s progress.

He stated that both the NPP and the NDC lack the necessary solutions needed to address the challenges facing Ghana.

Speaking on JoyNews' AM Show, he said, "I say let us break the two. I am calling on all Ghanaians to join the cause with me to break the two. These two parties do not have solutions."

"What they have are the party members and their party members alone cannot solve Ghana’s problem. It is the whole Ghana, you, me, everyone, including the NPP and NDC supporters who will solve the problem. Let us break these two parties," on September 24.

The flagbearer stated that it is time to dismantle the political duopoly, stating that Ghanaians have the power to do so, as they are the same people who elected these parties into power.

“There is a majority out there that is silent and I am saying to Ghanaians that they will see that majority rise on December 7. All we have to do is join them.”

“People are genuinely tired. They tell me that if you are coming to help us, then we are with you. You are talking about common prosperity that will help all of us; then we are with you. We believe you because you are not NPP or NDC,” he said.

According to him, his vision for Ghana centers on common prosperity, which entails uplifting everyone in the nation.

“If you are rich, you will be made richer. If you are poor, you will be made rich. If you look at my policy, they are geared towards common prosperity of all,” he said.
