Dr. Neta Kris Abiana Parsram has won the Best Feature (Online) award at the 28th Ghana Journalists Association (GJA) Media Awards, held on Saturday, September 28, 2024.
This accolade celebrates her remarkable contributions to online journalism, particularly her ability to produce engaging and insightful features that connect with a wide range of readers.
A prolific writer and researcher, Dr. Parsram has gained recognition for her work addressing important social, economic, and political issues.

Her ability to break down complex subjects and make them accessible to the general public has distinguished her in the online media space.
Her winning feature, titled "Poisoned crops: Inside produce from mining sites in Ghana," earned praise for its deep analysis and thought-provoking storytelling, which sparked widespread conversations across platforms.
In an interview, Dr. Parsram expressed her gratitude to the GJA, her family, the Global Health and Infectious Diseases Group(GHID) at KCCR where she also serves as the Communication Officer and the Pricipal Investigator of GHID, Dr. John Amuasi for their support.
Dr. Parsram dedicated her award to fellow journalists committed to achieving excellence and to the fight against illegal mining.
The 28th GJA Media Awards celebrated outstanding journalism across various categories, with Dr. Parsram’s Best Feature (Online) win underscoring the growing influence of online media in shaping public discussions in Ghana.
