After a decade-long absence from the national stage of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ), Accra Girls’ Senior High School has made a grand return.
The all-girls school pulled off a stunning victory, overtaking fellow contenders Aburi Girls’ SHS and Notre Dame Girls’ SHS to secure a place in the one-eighth stage of the NSMQ 2024.
In a highly competitive showdown, all three schools gave their best, but Accra Girls proved that sometimes, brains and perseverance are all you need to reign supreme.
A Tough All-Girls Battle
The contest, which featured three powerhouse girls’ schools, was a tense affair from start to finish. Accra Girls took an early lead, showing their mettle in the opening rounds.
Notre Dame Girls followed closely, not letting their opponents get too comfortable. Accra Girls SHS, having waited ten long years for this moment, had no plans of letting it slip through their fingers.
With determination and strategy, they held their ground and strategically seized the lead when it mattered most.
Their calmness under pressure and quick thinking in the latter rounds proved to be the deciding factor, pushing them ahead of Aburi and Notre Dame to clinch victory.
