Nsoatreman FC returned to winning ways with a comfortable 2-0 victory over debutants Basake Holy Stars on Sunday, October 20, 2024, at the Nana Nkoramsah Park.
The "Efiri Tete Amanaso" boys wasted no time in asserting their dominance, with forward Collins Kudjoe breaking the deadlock just 8 seconds into the match.
His lightning-fast goal gave Nsoatreman the perfect start as they looked to bounce back from previous disappointments.
Yaw Preko's side remained on the front foot, pushing to extend their advantage. However, Walid Neymar missed a golden opportunity to make it 2-0 when his effort, following a rebound from Eric Osei Bonsu’s shot, flew wide over the bar.
Nsoatreman continued to dominate throughout the first half, creating several key chances. Despite their attacking prowess, the visitors stood firm defensively, preventing further damage.
In the 25th minute, Nsoatreman's persistence paid off as Mohammed Abdul Rahman doubled their lead with a well-timed shot, leaving Basake Holy Stars with a mountain to climb.
After the break, the away side looked to mount a comeback, but Nsoatreman’s defence remained resolute. Despite some pressure from Holy Stars, the hosts held on to secure a well-earned victory.
This win lifts Nsoatreman FC to seventh place on the league table with 10 points after Gameweek 7, while Basake Holy Stars drop to 13th with seven points.
Nsoatreman will be looking to build on this strong performance as they aim to climb further up the table, while Basake Holy Stars will be hoping to bounce back in their next fixture.
